Hope

Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see

Hebrews 11:1

I love this verse of scripture. I have lived in hope for many things and time and time again it’s been this scripture I have come back to in the face of contradictory circumstances. Has everything I hope for come to pass? Some things have and some I still wait and hope for.

Hope raises our eyes, lifts our hearts and calls us to seek God, it causes us to seek for those things we have yet to see; those things that are hidden in the unseen realm with Him.

I believe that in this day and time one of the things God offers the world is hope, hope that there is another way to live, hope that communities and whole nations can be transformed, hope that there is a future beyond what any Government may or may not be able to do!

Hope brings light and life, it brings renewed determination, and a sense of forward motion. Hope makes us feel worthwhile, and gives us purpose even in those times where we cannot see how it’s all going to work out.

What do you hope for? Are you certain of what you cannot see? Hold on – The Bible tells us that God is on our side. Remember He that is for us is greater than He that is against us.

The servant of Elisha was in a state of panic at the surrounding army until Elisha asked God to open his eyes to see the army of the LORD camped around them (2 Kings 5 15 – 17).

Do you feel like hope is gone? The Bible says that hope deferred makes the heart sick but it also tells us that God has not abandoned us. If you feel like hope is gone ask Him to open your eyes so that you will be sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see.
