It’s here again!
Well its that start of another New Year 2013!
A new year brings all sorts of questions to mind. What will happen this year? Should I make some new year resolutions? What goals should I set myself for the forthcoming year? What do I want to leave behind in last year and what do I want to take with me into this year? If I make resolutions or set goals will I keep them?!
All very good questions you might say and I’ll be honest I do have things I want to achieve in this year but I can’t help thinking that so often we are so busy coming up with strategies and making lists of goals and targets that we forget to include those things that are most important…
Time with God; building our relationship with Father Jesus and Holy Spirit. Just being with them and not doing things for them.
Time with our husbands/wives just being us and not any of the titles that we carry around withus in our day to day lives (i.e. mum/dad/church leader/administrator)
Time with Family
Time with Friends
We forget life is about balance. The Holy Trinity lives in perfect harmony never getting weary, all things held together perfectly. In the message it says “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11: 28-30. So I don’t know about you but I figure we need to get some more balance in our lives in 2013. Find a better balance between doing and being, and a better understanding God’s unforced rhythms of grace.
I pray every blessing for you and your families and friends for 2013.
