All Change!

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

When I was little everything seemed to stay the same. One day was very much like the next indeed one year was very much like the next. There was a lot of stuff that was constant for example on Mondays and Wednesdays we went out with my Nana and Gig (Grandad) we would walk to the cake shop, get a cake and come home. When I started school I left the house at the same time every day, got home at the same time every day and every day had the same routine. Saturday’s and weekends had the same kind of regularity about them and I knew exactly where I was and what I was doing!

Fast forward mumble years and life is anything but constant! Change has become as inevitable as breathing and I have had to learn to go with the flow a lot more. This has not been easy especially since, according to my Myers Briggs profile, I am an extreme J – for those of you who are uninitiated this means that I like everything organised and buttoned down – not how my life is at all!

As I write this I have 2 days left in my current office role at People Without Limits and I am about to embark on a new season moving to take up a position at Computers 4 Africa.

Change is not only about moving it’s about refining, if it’s one thing I can say with hindsight it is that I have learnt so much from all the places I have worked and all the experiences I have been through. God has used each of them to mould me, shape me and change me, knock off rough edges and hone my character and long may He continue to do so!

I have loved working in the office at PWL, speaking with all our delegates, leaders, speakers and team; it has been a privilege to get to know you all better. I will still be involved in the conference worship so I will see you in the Summer for a jolly good catch up!

As I look through the open door that is before me I have to confess to being quite excited for what is to come and all sorts of opportunities are opening. As someone wrote in my leaving card today “Each step only takes us higher”. Here’s to reaching new heights, finding new depths of experiences in God and to all that is as yet unseen!

See you all at PWL!
